Short Take: Excite@Home launches in Japan

Excite@Home, a large high-speed Internet access provider, has launched its service in Japan. The @Home Japan service will be available to 5.1 million homes, or about 10 percent of the Japanese population. Excite@Home has several international properties and intends to make overseas expansion a key part of its growth strategy, after announcing plans to forsake profits in favor of growth in the near term.
