Short Take: Covad ends 1999 with 57,000 DSL lines

Covad Communications, primarily a wholesaler of high-speed digital subscriber lines (DSL), ended 1999 with 57,000 DSL lines in service, up from 31,000 at the end of September. The company said its network has the potential to reach as many as 29 million U.S. homes and businesses. Covad's 1999 fiscal year revenue increased to $66.5 million compared with $5.3 million for 1998.
