Short take: Cisco enhances routing hardware

Cisco Systems announced four new interfaces for the company's high-end 7500 and 7200 series of routing hardware. The new additions--dubbed POET--enable data packets to be sent over E3/T3 lines via Cisco routers, providing service providers and corporations a way to offer large numbers of lines. The enhancements are available now with interface pricing starting at $9,000 per port.
