Short Take: Bell Atlantic to buy Frontier Cellular

Bell Atlantic Mobile will acquire the wireless communications assets of Frontier for an undisclosed sum. In acquiring Frontier Cellular, Bell Atlantic gains more than 400,000 customers primarily in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, New York, as well as in rural areas in New York and Pennsylvania. The companies expect the deal to close by the end of the year.
