Share your Instagram stories with specific people

Instagram now lets you directly mention people in your photo and video stories.

User mentions are now possible in Instagram Stories.

Instagram on Thursday added the ability to call out specific people within its photo story feature. In a move to outdo the functions of competitor Snapchat, Instagram now enables users to share photos and videos they've stitched together and tucked inside their app's personal stories profile.

Like many social media tools, you target individual friends and followers by typing an "@" symbol and placing it before their Instagram username. This direct mention not only alerts the specific person, but other contacts contained within the photo or video can jump straight to each user profile with a few quick taps.

Instagram users can also now shoot quick Boomerang videos, which can be played backwards and forwards, then integrate these clips into their personal stories.
