Call it a grab bag of lucky tech firms.
Computer maker Gateway 2000 (GTW) today saw its second-quarter profits jump 10 percent, largely due to rising portable PC sales. Workstation maker Silicon Graphics (SGI) posted improved fourth-quarter earnings that blew past analysts' estimates. Earlier this morning, computer maker Digital (DEC) and enterprise business software maker SAP also picked up an improved earnings outlook. Here's a look at the individual performances:
