The CTIA 2011 fall show is a couple of weeks away, but Samsung has already created a buzz with an invite it sent out last night for an October 11 event in San Diego.

The invitation notes that we'll get to see "what's new from Android," which certainly isn't anything out of the ordinary. Samsung is no stranger to pumping out Android devices. What's interesting to note, however, is that Samsung dubbed the event the "Google Episode," which might lead one to believe that we'll see a pure Google experience phone. Something like, oh I don't know, the Nexus Prime with Ice Cream Sandwich?

The long-rumored Nexus Prime is said to be the first smartphone to run the newest version of the Android operating system and would fit it in the October/November release time frame given by Google's Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt earlier this month.

As for the handset's specs, the Nexus Prime is believed to have a Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera with an improved sensor, and a front-facing 1-megapixel camera. There's also talk of 4G LTE capabilities and the possibility of it launching with Verizon, which, as you might recall, skipped out on the Galaxy S II.

Hopefully, we'll have all our questions answered on October 11, and we'll be there to cover it all. The event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. PT, so check back then for all the details, as well as full coverage of the CTIA fall show.
