LG maybe be working on a phone with a 6-inch flexible display, according to ZDNet Korea, while Samsung gets ready to release a flexible version of its Galaxy Note 3 Active.
LG and Samsung may be trying to beat each other to the market with a flexible smartphone.
Dubbed either the LG Z or Z1, LG's entry into the flexible smartphone arena would offer a concave design, ZDNet Asia said on Wednesday, citing "industry sources." Curved like a banana, according to the English translation of the story, the display would offer a hefty six inches of screen real estate.
Already in mass production, the LG Z is expected to launch later this month, ZDNet's sources added.
Not to be outdone, Samsung said Wednesday that it plans to released a curved version of its Galaxy Note 3 Active next week. Based on a report last week from Asian Daily, the screen on the "limited edition" Galaxy Note 3 Active will be waterproof but not completely unbreakable.
