Samsung teases a new Gear S3 smartwatch at its IFA conference on September 1.

The Korean megamanufacturer's invitations for its September 1 press conference in Berlin, Germany includes a clock motif, effectively confirming that the company will unveil its next smartwatch at the event.

The presumed Gear S3 has been rumored for months, and the press conference comes almost a year to the day after Samsung announced its predecessor, the Gear S2, at the same IFA trade show last year.

The September 1 announcement would also allow the company to get the jump on the rumored Apple Watch 2 unveiling that might happen the following week.
