Vodafone is offering you a golden opportunity: it's the only network that will carry the Samsung Galaxy S5 in gold when the new Android powerhouse launches on 11 April.

Samsung's hotly-anticipated new flagship phone is available to pre-order from Vodafone and other UK networks and retailers on Friday 28 March in a range of colours, including gold, white, blue and black. Vodafone has the exclusive on the gold model for a month.

UK networks including EE, Three and Vodafone have confirmed they will sell the S5 on 3G and 4G contracts. Retailers including Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4U and Samsung's forthcoming own-brand stores will also sell the S5.

The exact price is yet to be confirmed, but we're looking at north of the five hundred pound mark. Speaking of colours, Samsung has come up with a last-ditch attempt to stop sales of the current flagship the S4 going off a cliff by introducing a new Black Edition, but with the S5 just around the corner and a price drop for the S4 imminent now's not the time to invest in today's tech.

The Galaxy S5 packs a quad-core processor and Full HD 1080p screen with KitKat software, fingerprint and heart rate sensors, all snugly encased in a waterproof body. Hit play on our video for the low-down:
