Samsung's curved-screen Galaxy Note Edge smartphone arrives at US Cellular this week, and warning: it isn't cheap. The $400 on-contract handset aims to the super-premium end of the price continuum, not only for its high-end specs (which are virtually identical to the less-costly Note 4), but also because of its edgy design.

Shoppers can pick up the Note Edge starting January 7, either on contract or off-contract over 20 monthly installments of $41, for an all-in price of $820 when it's all said and done.

The Note Edge boasts some impressive specs, including a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, but it's the separate interface controls on the rounded strip that gives the Edge its appeal to early adopters of shapely phones.
