Qwest makes an elevator pitch

Captivate Network announced Wednesday that it has signed a deal with Qwest Communications International to carry Qwest advertisements on its elevator network. The carrier will also provide telecom services to Captivate like high-speed Internet access, Web hosting and a VPN (Virtual Private Network). Captivate operates a network that broadcasts ads and news content in elevators. Qwest's fiber optical network will connect its hosting centers to Captivate and allow Captivate to supply graphic-heavy content to its present market of 1 million business people in 1,100 office buildings in the United States. Captivate aims to reach 3 million people when it completes its network and technology expansion plans.
