A sequel to Nokia's brilliant Lumia 620 is apparently ready for release, with Sofica, the makers of a prominent camera benchmarking app, spotting a Nokia with a 5-megapixel camera running Windows Phone 8.1.

Benchmarks are often a good tip that a new mobile is rapidly incoming, and the Lumia 630 has also been spotted at US regulators the FCC.

Twitter-based leak machine @evleaks has also seen apparent marketing images of the new blower, posting the above pic a few weeks ago. He didn't include any details other than it was due for release this year.

Windows Phone 8.1 is a major update to Microsoft's mobile OS, due to officially launch at the company's Build Developers Conference next month. One heavily rumoured feature is Microsoft's answer to Siri, codenamed Cortana, as well as a revamped approach to notifications.

Build takes place in San Francisco on 2-4 April, so it's likely we'll see an announcement from Nokia with some new kit soon after.

Other rumoured specs on the table for the Lumia 630 include a 4.5-inch screen with a mediocre 854x480-pixel resolution, and 3G -- not 4G. A dual-SIM version seems likely for some countries.

Hopefully it'll be just as great value as the Lumia 620, one of our favourite phones of last year.
