AT&T customers will get first crack at Nokia's new Lumia tablet.

The Lumia 2520 will be available through AT&T starting Friday, November 22. The tablet will sell for $400 with the standard two-year contract and $200 if bundled with a Lumia 925, 1020, or 1520 smartphone.

AT&T subscribers who buy and activate the 2520 between November 22 and January 9, 2014, will also receive a $20 voucher to spend at Microsoft's Windows Store.

Verizon will also carry the 2520 but has yet to announce a specific launch date.

Equipped with Windows RT 8.1, the 2520 offers a 1,920x1,080-pixel 10.1-inch screen, 32GB of built-in storage, and a 6.7-megapixel rear-facing camera. A 8,000 mAh battery promises up to 11 hours on a single charge. Microsoft Office and Outlook also are part of the package.

November 22 will be a busy day for product launches. The Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphone and Microsoft's next Xbox are also set to hit the market on that Friday.

Nokia dabbled in small Internet tablets several years ago, but the Lumia 2520 marks its first entry into the current crowded market. As a newcomer, the company faces an uphill battle competing against the iPad and the many low-cost Android tablets.

The 2520 is also saddled with Windows RT rather than Windows 8.1. Nokia said that it chose RT to boost the battery life, enable a quicker recovery from sleep mode, and keep the tablet thinner. But Windows RT tablets have proven a tougher sell than those equipped with the full version of Windows capable of running desktop applications.
