The 5800 XpressMusic may have stolen the thunder for being the first S60 touchscreen handset, but it won't be in the limelight for too long.

Devinder Kishore, director of Marketing for Nokia India, was quoted at a recent event in New Delhi saying that the Finnish company "will have a lot of touchscreen phones coming up, including an N-series device very soon". The handset is expected to be announced this year and will hit markets in early 2009.

Sure, we knew it was coming, but we didn't know it would be that soon, considering a recent Reuters report that said the 5800 XpressMusic will miss the Christmas shopping season in most developed markets. According to Nokia, the touchscreen XpressMusic model will be available in Asia this quarter, beginning with Singapore and Indonesia. Seeing how things are shaping up, we're inclined to pass over the XpressMusic and wait for a swanky N-series model instead.
