New Mobility graphics from ATI

Graphics powerhouse ATI Technologies (you know, the guys who were recently bought out by AMD) has a new line of Radeon graphics processors for laptops that are, to use the current hot catchphrase, "Vista-ready."

The new Mobility Radeon X1700, Mobility Radeon X1450, and Mobility Radeon X1350 all promise advanced power consumption for longer battery life and support for HD-DVD and Blu-ray movies (including HDCP) and can handle all the expected Windows Vista eye candy, such as the Aero interface.

Expect to see the gamer-friendly Mobility Radeon X1700 first in a new ASUS performance laptop, the W2P, complete with HD-DVD drive. Pricing and availability are still up in the air.
