Network software maker wins $6.6 million

Tejas Networks said Monday it raised a $6.6 million second round of funding led by new investor IL&FS Venture. Other investors include Intel Capital and Dr. Gururaj Deshpande, chairman of the Tejas board of directors and a previous investor in the first round. Tejas makes software for optical telecom networks and has already installed its product in the network of a major telecom carrier in India. Tejas also raised its initial investment from ASG Omni and optical equipment maker Sycamore Networks, where Deshpande serves as chairman and co-founder.
