Net2Phone unveils new software

Net2Phone, an Internet-based phone service, introduced Monday the latest version of its PC software. Dubbed CommCenter, the software borrows from the popular instant messaging applications and their so-called Buddy Lists, which indicate when friends and associates are also online and available to chat via short text messages. CommCenter allows voice-over-Internet users to easily contact friends on their Active Contact List and see when they are online. Net2Phone will continue to offer free unlimited PC-to-PC calling and PC-to-phone calls for 2.9 cents per minute with the first five minutes for free.
