Mickey goes mobile

As is it didn't have its fingers in enough pies, the Walt Disney Company is set to enter the cell phone world next year with Disney Mobile. Disney has reached an agreement with Sprint to provide a nationwide wireless service, which it says will be "specifically designed for families." The company said it will offer a set of branded handsets, applications, and services for its target market, which we presume will center on younger parents with tykes. Disney won't actually operate any equipment but will lease network from Sprint as an MVNO. Virgin Mobile currently has such an agreement with Sprint, but its service caters more to teens and young hipsters. We'll be eager to see what Disney has to offer, but if it can design a Cruella De Ville cell phone, that would be really cool.
