Messaging to reload your phone card

Prepaid cellular users in Malaysia can soon replenish the value of their phone cards by notifying their banks via Short Messaging Services (SMS). In Asia, SMS, a messaging tool that lets mobile phone users send and receive text messages, can be used to obtain exam results, buy a drink and even get a divorce. Malaysian start-up QuickNet Com has developed software it says will enable cellular subscribers to use SMS to make payments directly from their savings or other accounts to add minutes to their prepaid phone cards. After completing a successful transaction, cellular users will get a confirmation SMS message from their banks, normally within 20 seconds, said QuickNet Com CEO Ramli Amat.
