The always fascinating Think Secret Web site has tongues wagging with its prediction that an upcoming Mac Mini will have a full range of media center functions, including TiVo-style DVR capabilities. The latest iMac G5 already has a media center interface, called Front Row, for playing back media files with the included mini remote control, but it lacks DVR functionality and has a limited feature set, at least compared to Microsoft's Media Center operating system.
This Think Secret report says, "Specifics surrounding Front Row 2 and Apple's DVR application are limited at this point, although sources with knowledge of the project have dubbed the latter a TiVo-killer." The diminutive Mac Mini seems perfect for living-room use, so color us interested.
