Lucent names CIO

Networking-gear maker Lucent Technologies on Friday named Ruth E. Bruch as senior vice president and chief information officer, effective May 15, 2002. Bruch replaces Larry Kittelberger, who was Lucent's CIO until leaving last July to join Honeywell International. Bruch, 48, will be responsible for operation of the company's information systems infrastructure, including global communications systems, corporate networks and e-business platforms. Bruch most recently served as vice president and CIO of automotive supplier Visteon. Lucent is based in Murray Hill, N.J.
