Lexar JumpDrive Mercury wears its capacity on its sleeve

Ever search for a flash thumbdrive, only to be faced with a handful of them and no idea which one has enough capacity for your needs? Lexar resolves this issue with its new JumpDrive Mercury, which features a capacity meter. Without even plugging the drive into your PC or laptop, you can determine the relative capacity (by percentage) of the drive by looking at the graded meter on the case. The meter is based on Electronic Paper Display technology by E Ink and, unlike LCDs, requires no power to retain data and therefore uses no battery. This allows the drive to be very slim.

The JumpDrive Mercury is available in two capacities: 1GB and 2GB, with suggested retail prices of $60 and $100, respectively.
