Level 3 Communications said Wednesday that it would supply broadband services to Cox Communications in five major U.S. markets. Cox will lease capacity from Level 3 to help support its 779,000 residential and business high-speed Internet customers and will absorb the former customers of bankrupt broadband provider Excite@Home. Cox and Comcast are supporting Excite@Home, while they transfer the company's customers to their own services.
