The Kobo eReader Touch, which has been available in the US since June, is finally scheduled to reach Aussie shelves.
A representative from Rogers & Cowan, which handles Kobo's PR, told CNET Australia that the Kobo eReader Touch is due to arrive in the first week of October.
The Kobo eReader Touch will be available through the Borders Australia website; although pricing has yet to be announced, we expect it to undercut the local price for the Wi-Fi-only Kindle, . The Kobo eReader Touch retails for US$129.99 in the US; if it is priced at a similar scale here, it will once again be the cheapest E Ink reader available in Australia.
It also boasts a feature set that no other e-reader has matched at such a low price; with an infrared touchscreen, Wi-Fi, dictionary integration, microSD expansion, a Pearl E Ink screen and a battery life of up to one month, it will be a welcome — and tough to beat — competitor on the local market.
Stay tuned for pricing details.
