J-Phone companies merge

Japanese wireless provider J-Phone announced Friday that it is restructuring its company and renaming itself J-Phone Communications. Before Friday's reorganization, the company was made up of four separate entities, a holding company and three regional providers. But on Friday, J-Phone Communications said all four entities will now merge in an effort to "enable faster decision-making processes, increased efficiency, stronger management focus and improved competitiveness," according to a statement. Vodafone, which owned a stake in all four entities, will hold a 60 percent piece of the newly formed company, according to the statement.
