HTC may be set to unveil its next big thing on February 19.

The troubled Taiwanese handset manufacturer sent out invitations to an event set for that date in New York. There is little information beyond the timing and location.

The event is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. PT (10 a.m. ET) that day. There will be a simultaneous HTC event in London.

HTC could be unveiling the rumored M7, its latest flagship smartphone. There was speculation that the company would use the Mobile World Congress trade show in late February to show off the product, but it may want the stage to itself.

The company, despite making products that win critical praise, continues to see a decline in revenue and profits as it gets outmuscled by larger companies such as Samsung Electronics and Apple.

Check back in with CNET on February 19 to get all the details of HTC's latest announcement.
