How to unlock the Google Play Games Easter egg
Unlock a super secret achievement in the new Google Play Games app using the Konami Code.
Google is no stranger to hiding Easter eggs in its various products. For those who aren't familiar with the term, an Easter egg is a feature, often playful in nature, hidden in software for users to find. Often times it adds no real value to user experience, other than possibly providing a smile.
The latest Easter egg comes courtesy of Droid Life and Reddit and can be found in the new Google Play Games app.
The Konami Code is an old school way of unlocking an Easter egg, even Facebook has used it. Google Play Games seems like the perfect place to incorporate a classic gaming cheat code Easter egg.
To unlock the hidden achievement, install Play Games from the Play Store and then navigate to the Play Now screen.
- On this screen use gestures to enter the first part of the Konami Code: UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT.
- When done properly a pop-up will display with the B, A and Start buttons. Tap them in that order.
Congratulations! You've unlocked a hidden achievement. Although the unlocked achievement won't be displayed anywhere on your profile, and no points are awarded for the successful egg hunt.
