Here's what Snapchat Spectacles video looks like

Snapchat Spectacles let you post Snaps with your face. This is how those Snaps look.

Snapchat Spectacles -- you know, the sunglasses that have have built-in cameras that allow you to post directly to Snapchat -- are here.

So far, the videos captured with them that have been shared online are pretty boring (they mostly revolve around people's first impressions of the Snap-branded sunnies). But the new circular video format they use is excitingly promising.

Can't decide whether to Snap a video in horizontal or vertical mode? Using the Snapchat Spectacles, it doesn't matter. Whoever views the Snap on a phone will be able to spin it any way to view the video in any orientation -- that's why the videos are circular.

Early impressions of the sunglasses are very positive; however, they aren't available to buy just anywhere. In fact, the process of buying a pair of Snapchat Spectacles includes mystery locations, a website countdown, long lines and a roaming, pop-up vending machine that looks like a Minion. (Or you can cop a pair for thousands of dollars on eBay.) Some call it insane, others call it inane.

If you want to see what video taken with Snapchat Spectacles looks like, we've gathered a roundup of the coolest videos shared so far. And if you want to know more, here's CNET's hands-on take on the Spectacles.

Ray's day in Snaps

After a quick rundown of how the Snapchat Spectacles work, Raymond Wong takes them for a spin around town as he eats pizza, rides the subway, enjoys the scenery of a park, skates around town and flies a drone.

Snapchat Spectacles in Seattle

Though the only places to snag a pair of Snapchat Spectacles have so far been located in California, Joshua Decker from Seattle was able to get a pair thanks to a good friend in Venice that he now owes a big favor to.
