Gigabyte GSmart t600: Freeview on a phone

Want to watch Jeremy Kyle while you're working at the office? You might be interested in the Gigabyte GSmart t600, a phone that's also a TV

Admit it: you've got a penchant for daytime TV. You can't get enough of people sitting on sofas talking in a coma- inducing manner. Unfortunately for you, you're trapped in an office all day. But there's a glimmer of hope: Gigabyte's GSmart t600.

The t600 runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional, and boasts a VGA screen and Wi-Fi, but that's not why you'll want it. Your Jeremy Kyle-loving self is going to want the t600 because it lets you watch Freeview.

That's right! This isn't just a smart phone: it's a portable digital TV, with DAB radio as an added bonus. Disappointingly, you can't use it on the move but it works wonders while you're sitting at a desk or in your back garden.

The picture quality is superb but only if you have a strong Freeview signal in your area. There's also no TV guide or a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, so you have to use the provided headphones or buy an adaptor.

Obviously, battery life gets zapped when you're watching TV, so you won't be able to skyve off work for too long. Still, imperfections aside, we did enjoy using it. According to Gigabyte, the t600 will be available in the UK later this year. -Andrew Lim
