Yesterday I received a press release about something called Rebtel. It's an Internet-based telephony service that lets you make cheap mobile-to-mobile calls. Usually, I'm pretty sceptical about these services because they have a habit of not working or there's a catch somewhere down the line.
The thing that got me interested in Rebtel, however, is that you get ten free calls to any mobile in the world and each call can last as long as you like. The system is admittedly a little awkward to get going, but it does work.
I might not have been so interested if there weren't any free calls involved, but being able to call friends and family in Australia on their mobile phone for free got my blood rushing.
