Cable group changes name

The National Cable TV Association (NCTA) will rename itself the National Cable and Telecommunications Association while keeping the same acronym, President Robert Sachs said Tuesday in Washington. The change is to reflect the growing telecom services provided by cable, reflected in 4 million cable modem customers and 1 million cable phone customers, he said.
