Boost, Virgin's LG Volt lights up faster Spark network for prepaid
The LG Volt is the first prepaid smartphone to run on Sprint's faster LTE network.
With the LG Volt, Sprint's ultrafast LTE Spark network has made the jump to Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, the carrier's prepaid arms.
Announced earlier this year as the LG L90 , the Volt is an
4.4 KitKat smartphone with better-than-average hardware specifications. The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor which is bolstered by 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage.Flanked by an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, the LG Volt is equipped for 4G LTE networks and also offers a 3,000mAh battery and microSD expansion. As is to be expected with smartphones today, you'll also find Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and NFC connectivity.
Given this is an LG device, the hardware maker has also seen fit to sprinkle in its own custom software touches. The Volt includes apps such as QSlide, Knock Code, Voice Mate, Quick Remote, and Smart screen.
The LG Volt is available immediately through Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile with a $179.99 no-contract price tag. Boost offers a blue version of the handset, while Virgin Mobile's is dressed in all white.
