Vodafone Australia has listed the 9780 on its website, with plans starting from AU$60 per-month on a $45 Infinite plan plus a AU$15 per-month handset repayment option. Crazy John's also intends to sell the 9780 but currently displays a placeholder only with a "Coming Soon" notice.

The 9780 offers an incremental upgrade from the popular Bold 9700, with the biggest change being the introduction of the BlackBerry OS 6 platform. The newer 9780 also offers a higher resolution camera and a bump in RAM, though it runs the same processor as its predecessor.
