Before you buy a pair of Beats headphones, listen to one of these

Beating Beats for sound and build quality is supereasy, but the Audiophiliac picked the best of the best, priced from $99 and up.

No doubt about it, Beats headphones are a huge deal. Apple paid $3 billion for the company that energized the entire headphone market. That's great; it's just too bad that -- in my personal opinion -- Beats' sound is nothing special, they aren't made that well, and aren't comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. All in all, nothing special except the marketing. Picking out a bunch of better-than-Beats headphones isn't such a tough assignment, but I wanted to feature some truly outstanding models, priced from $99 and up.

Here they are.
