Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Asus already has an augmented reality product ready, but it won't be showing it off anytime soon. According to CEO Jerry Shen, who spoke to CNET at Computex in Taipei, his company's AR product was being put on hold at the request of a "very big player."

The earliest its AR product, likely a headset similar to the HoloLens, will debut is at CES in Las Vegas next year. With Microsoft as one of the big names in the AR space with the HoloLens, it's likely the Redmond giant is behind the request.

Besides an AR device, Asus also said that it will launch a VR product alongside its AR product. The CEO did not disclose what that would be.
