Acer beTouch E120 and beTouch E130: Android in BlackBerry's clothing

The Acer beTouch E120 and beTouch E130 are Android handsets that could entice BlackBerry lovers to cross the park to Android

The Acer beTouch E120 and beTouch E130 round out our mobile phone coverage for the day. One's a touchscreen Android handset and the other is a 'Droid-powered take on the BlackBerry shape.

Both throb with HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. They boast 3.2-megapixel cameras and FM radios, and both come in iPhone-like black or white livery.

The E120, pictured right, gives you the choice of tapping on the 2.8-inch touchscreen or clicking the 5-way D-pad to control the phone. It will be available from mid-July.

The E130, pictured left, is a kind of trainer bra for BlackBerry addicts looking to switch to Android. Unusually for a 'Droid phone, the qwerty keyboard is front and centre instead of being hidden away as a slider. It also sports a 2.6-inch screen and will drop in August 2010.

Disappointingly, they only offer Google's Android 1.6 operating system, which is so ages ago. Acer has added a custom front end that includes music streaming Spinlets software and built-in Facebook and Twitter.
