Microsoft takes the stage at E3 (live blog)

This holiday, Microsoft plans to take Xbox entertainment beyond the console to phones, PCs, and tablets. Plus: Game talk via Kinect voice recognition and lots of live event programming from ESPN.

You've read the speculation. There's nothing left to do now but wait to see what Microsoft has to announce at this year's E3 show.

One thing to keep an eye out for: an AirPlay-like Xbox 360 companion application -- dubbed "Smart Glass" -- that would let users beam content back to their game consoles for viewing on larger screens, according to an Engadget report. The app is also expected to be made available for tablets and phones running on Windows, Windows Phone, Android, and iOS.
