The iPad 5 will offer the same Touch ID fingerprint sensor found in the iPhone 5S, at least if an image leaked by a Chinese blog site is legit.

Offered by Chinese site Chinese site ctechcn.com, the image shows what purports to be the fifth-generation iPad with a home button that looks just like the one on the 5S. That home button incorporates Apple's Touch ID sensor, which allows users to unlock their device via fingerprint recognition.

A recent video from Unbox Therapy suggests that the Touch ID sensor from an iPhone 5S would fit perfectly into the panels for the next iPad and iPad Mini. We'll know for sure if these reports are true when Apple unveils the next-generation iPads, potentially at a launch event slated for October 22.
