Soundbars are an excellent alternative to a surround sound system, especially for anyone suffering from a small lounge room.

JBL has been the big name in soundbars for some time now, and the company is continuing this tradition with three new models that will arriving in the new year.

At $1199, the SB400 is the flagship, made for TVs that 46-inches and above. The SB400 features six transducers and a 120-watt amplifier, with a separate 200 watt, 8-inch wireless subwoofer. The HDMI connectivity is 3D-compliant, and you can even connect via optical, analogue and Bluetooth.

The SB200 features dual high excursion woofers, a ported enclosure and a bass boost function to eliminate the need for a subwoofer, all for $599.

Finally, at $399, the entry level SB100 packs in 30 watts per channel from its dual 2-way speaker array, and its smaller size makes it perfect for 42-inch and smaller screens.

All three models will be available from Harvey Norman from January 2013.
