When a mysterious, threatening portal opens up across the Lego universe, who will be there to save the day? A new trailer for the upcoming Lego Dimensions video game shows Gandalf, Batman and Wyldstyle from "The Lego Movie" on a mission to save the Lego universe from a meddling Joel McHale.
In the trailer, "Community" star McHale is working to put together his next Lego project, but unknowingly opens up a powerful vortex into the various Lego worlds.
After the portal is opened, Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle minifigs come crashing through the rift looking to save their friends who were sucked into the void. Hilarity ensues as the miniature heroes try to attack the Earthly giant, only to discover that he wants to help.
Lego Dimensions is a toys-to-life video game similar to Skylanders and Disney Infinity. The game will feature Lego minifig characters from DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The Lego Movie and the Back to the Future trilogy.
Check out the trailer in its entirety in the video above. Lego Dimensions is coming to PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii U on September 25, and is expected to retail for around $100 or £100 (with expansions costing about £30 or £15, according to Amazon), which converts to about AU$190.
