The game is described as "high-potential" and one that will have a "strong digital live service offer."
Speaking today during an earnings call with investors, Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez revealed that the publisher has an unannounced "AAA IP" launching during its upcoming fiscal year.
GameSpot has followed up with Ubisoft in an attempt to get more details.
Whatever the game is, it will be a brand new franchise, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot went on to stress during the call. Ubisoft's upcoming fiscal 2016-17 begins April 1, 2016 and ends March 31, 2017.
In addition to the new IP, which is described as "high-potential," Ubisoft is planning to release another new franchise, For Honor, during the upcoming fiscal year. Other games coming out during that window include South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and the just-confirmed Watch Dogs 2.
On the subject of For Honor, Martinez said the sword-fighting game is being aimed at the "core" audience and is not necessarily expected to be a mass-market title.
