A New Game Plus mode for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available on Xbox One.
The mode, which allows players that have completed the game to start over but retain character skills and items from the previous campaign, can be downloaded on Microsoft's console (click here) now.
The update has not yet appeared for the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.
Since The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red hasn't announced the release on its social networks, blog or the game's official website, it may be the DLC made its way onto Xbox Live ahead of schedule. If so, it is likely the content will be rolled out to the remaining platforms over the coming days.
On August 14, CD Projekt Red released mod tools for The Witcher 3 on PC. According to the studio, mods could also make their way to the Xbox One and PS4 versions, but there are technical hurdles that prevent committing to the release.
"We are thinking about it, but it's a way more complex process to do this on consoles so we can't give you any details now," the studio said, when asked about console mod tools.
"It's really important for us not to partition The Witcher community and allow access to mods to console gamers, too. We're considering various approaches to solve this and started initial talks with first-parties about this."
The Witcher 3's mod tools release came with some backlash from fans, some of which expected a more comprehensive set of options, akin to CD Projekt Red's "REDkit," which was released for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
Responding to questions about whether a new version of REDkit would be made available, as previously promised, CD Projekt Red's community manager said it was "not planning to release anything else."
