Tales from The Borderlands getting released on disc

Telltale Games' acclaimed episodic series will be available physically from April.

Tales from the Borderlands will be released on disc, 2K has announced. Telltale Games' acclaimed episodic series will be available in Europe from April 22 and April 26 in North America.

Tales from the Borderlands is a spin-off of Gearbox Software's first-person RPG series. Like Telltale's other games, it asks players to make key decisions at various points in each episode. These choices impact the way a story unfolds and, over the course of numerous episodes, can change the game world too.

Tales from the Borderlands spans five episodes. The disc will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

In our review of Tales for the Borderlands' final episode, Alexa Ray Corriea said the game "is a triumphant piece of narrative, a thrilling romp through an already rich game world piled high with both reverential and tongue-in-cheek nods to its source material."

She continued: "It asks you what it means to be a hero, but on a deeper level explores themes of greed, family, friendship, and forgiveness. It has its cataclysmic, epic moments, plot twists that were impossible to see coming, gut-wringing sad bits, and an embarrassing wealth of humor.

"The choices you've made throughout the series matter and ripple outward to the finale, and with a cast as irritatingly loveable as this one, it's impossible not to care about where they're going next."
