See the sea outside your train with Eurostar's fishy VR

Anyone travelling beneath the English Channel can hang out with virtual reality mermaids, pirates and octopi this summer.

Life's always better down where it's wetter

Prepare to channel your inner explorer as you travel under the Channel.

Eurostar has introduced a virtual reality experience that erases the underwater train around you, lets you see the sea that surrounds you and lets you hang out with mermaids, pirates and octopi.

The Eurostar is the train that travels under the English Channel to connect Britain with mainland Europe. You might remember it from the first "Mission: Impossible" movie.

Normally, there isn't much of a view as you zoom through the 50-km (31-mile) Channel Tunnel. So if you don't have Tom Cruise to entertain you, you can access the onboard entertainment system on your Android or Apple device and take in the immersive undersea experience. Train staff will hand out special headsets that will hold your phone and enable the VR.

The fun will be available on Eurostar service between London and Paris, Lille, Brussels, Lyon and the south of France during the summer.
