Niantic

Pokemon Go may have lost some steam, but there are still many millions playing -- and Niantic wants to keep it that way.

The developer announced on Wednesday that it'll soon introduce a daily bonus feature to keep trainers coming back, well, daily. What's more, you'll get an extra big bonus if you maintain a seven-day streak.

You'll get an extra 500 experience and 600 stardust for catching a Pokemon each day, and if you can keep that streak alive for a week, you'll be rewarded with 2,000 experience and 2,400 stardust. There's a similar reward scheme for visiting PokeStops.

Released in early July, Pokemon Go has been downloaded a remarkable 500 million times. Niantic has done much in recent months to add depth to the game, updating Pokemon Go with the Buddy system, revising its Medals feature and making Gym battles simpler.
