The virtual-reality system will be available at a discount and many software titles will be half off during the sale that runs through Cyber Monday.
Is a $100 discount enough to get people to take the plunge and buy HTC's Vive?
Yes, it's real. You can get the HTC Vive virtual-reality system for $100 less than the regular price. The hardware normally costs about $800.
HTC said Monday its Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals will include a $100 discount on the Vive, wherever the VR set is sold, online or in stores. There's also a $5 bundle deal at HTC's Viveport app store for three of the most popular VR apps: Soundstage, Arcade Artist and Lumen. Some 20 other titles are also available at a 50 percent discount.
All these HTC deals start at 11:59 p.m. PT on Thanksgiving and run through 11:59 p.m. November 28.
