Halo 5 now has Star Wars podracing thanks to dedicated fan

This is one of the better Forge maps we've ever seen; watch a video and get download instructions here.

The map-making tools in Halo 5: Guardians continue to be put to good use. The latest example is a Forge map that essentially recreates the podracing scenes from "Star Wars -- Episode I: The Phantom Menace." This particular map, made by Xbox Live user CaptainDireWolf, is called Boonta Eve, named after the fictional tournament. The map was highlighted recently by YouTube's The Epidemic. Check it out below.

As you can see, the map is very detailed. The mashed-together podracers, based on those driven by Anakin and Sebulba in the movie, look more than passable thanks to CaptainDireWolf's expert building skills. He even used a light source to replicate the energy beam from the film (via Eurogamer).

CaptainDireWolf also constructed the stadium seating, complete with Jabba the Hutt's tower.

When you die, you spawn in a cage and can shoot at your enemies with a battle rifle. A teleporter is available to get back to ground level, too. In its current state, however, there is no mechanism that determines a racer's winner, so it's on the honor system for now.

You can download this map by searching for CaptainDireWolf on Xbox Live.

Another Halo 5 player used the Forge tools, which were released for free in December, to build a custom gametype that involved running up a hill during an avalanche.
