'Gotham is burning' but Batman has brought his Bat-buds in new Arkham Knight trailer

Catwoman, Nightwing and Robin join the Dark Knight to face off with the mysterious Arkham Knight in the third trailer for the hotly-anticipated game.

"Gotham is burning," a deadly new villain declares in the brand new trailer for "Batman: Arkham Knight" -- and he has a stark warning for our hero: "You will bring death to all who follow you..."

That's bad news for the Bat-family assembled around Batman, who leap from the pages of DC comics to your game's console in this summer's hotly-anticipated game. This third trailer sees the caped crusader joined by fellow crime fighters and allies including Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, Azrael, Oracle, Alfred and Commissioner Gordon.

Gordon lights the Batsignal as Two Face, Scarecrow, the Penguin, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, the Riddler and other wrong 'uns terrorise Gotham once again. The titular Arkham Knight is a mysterious new face, created for the Rocksteady game by DC Comics legends Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.

The game is the first of the series to put you in the driver's seat of the Batmobile. The famous car is presented here in a similar way to the tank-like Tumbler of the "Dark Knight" movies, complete with squealing sideways wheels.

Arkham Knight is the latest in the series from Rocksteady and Warner Bros, following 2009's Arkham Asylum, 2011's Arkham City and 2013 prequel Arkham Origins. The new game lands on Microsoft Windows PCs, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 23 June 2015.
