The third-person action-adventure game follows engineer Isaac Clarke as he explores a mining spaceship overrun by extremely scary monsters. The original got sequels in 2011 and 2013.
One major change from the original will be a chatty Isaac -- the character was a silent protagonist in the 2008 version. The remake will see Gunner Wright, who played the character in the sequels, returning to the role.
Motive previously developed the single player campaign in 2017'sand 2020 space battler . It's also working on with Marvel.
Game remakes have been increasingly common in recent years, as companies revisit their biggest hits on new hardware. Capcom already released remakes of Resident Evil 2 and , with the getting the same treatment next year. Square Enix remade in 2020, and is getting a remake at some point in the future.
